Abstract

In his latest published book, Salvador Urrieta revisits the two themes that have characterized his academic and professional career: heritage and the public space of the built city, which often coincide with the historic city. In this environment, social, economic, cultural, and functional aspects converge. Most cities are the product of complex evolutionary processes from their origins to the present day. Therefore, we can assert that in their urban and architectural spaces, there is some form of historical and cultural expression that can be recognized as a collective heritage belonging to all its inhabitants. Thus, the author proposes a diachronic vision of the city, where history and memory are present.
